Bridgeport, CT – The Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI) joined the Bridgeport Regional Business Council (BRBC) at Housatonic Community College for The Road to Resettlement: Understanding the Refugee Experience, an event focused on the realities of rebuilding lives in a new country.

The discussion addressed the struggles, resilience, and support systems that shape the refugee journey.

CIRI emphasized the significance of community involvement in easing the transition for individuals starting over.

“Events like this highlight both the urgent needs of those we serve, and the power of collective action in creating a more welcoming and supportive community,” CIRI stated.

The event was hosted in partnership with BRBC’s Leadership & Development Network, bringing together business leaders, advocates, and community members to engage in meaningful conversation about refugee resettlement.

CIRI underscored the impact of small contributions, whether through direct aid or advocacy.

“Every contribution is a step toward something greater—helping someone secure a job, reunite with family, or finally feel safe,” the organization stated.

The nonprofit encouraged those interested in supporting resettlement efforts to visit its website. “What seems small in the moment can be the foundation for an entirely new beginning,” CIRI said.

For more information or to contribute, CIRI directed individuals to https://cirict.org/donate/.
