STORRS, Conn. — The Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (CASE) will introduce its 50th class of inductees on May 28 at UConn’s Storrs campus, with 12 of the 36 new members hailing from the University of Connecticut.

UConn faculty from five colleges and schools—Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Medicine, and Pharmacy—account for one-third of the class.

“UConn’s inductees to CASE exemplify the University’s commitment to excellence across many disciplines,” said Pamir Alpay, UConn’s vice president for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. “Congratulations to all of UConn’s 2025 inductees and thank you for your dedicated work on behalf of the State of Connecticut.”

Founded in 1976 by the Connecticut General Assembly, CASE comprises scientists and engineers who have made original contributions to their fields.

“CASE is honored to have these outstanding scientists and engineers join us as we seek to fulfill our mission to provide evidence-based advice to inform policy and promote innovation in Connecticut,” said CASE President Amy Howell.

The 12 UConn inductees join hundreds of prior university members in the Academy. Their induction comes as CASE prepares for its 50th Annual Dinner, which will take place on campus and spotlight UConn’s statewide scientific impact.
