Connecticut State Police are investigating a serious collision on Route 8 in Shelton. Authorities urge witnesses to provide information.

Shelton, CT –  A brutal collision on Route 8 sent emergency crews scrambling Monday, March 10, leaving at least one person with severe injuries.

According to the Connecticut State Police, the authorities shut down a section of the roadway as investigators combed through wreckage, assessing the aftermath.

Authorities have not disclosed the cause, but damage to the vehicle suggests high-impact force.

Medics rushed the injured to a nearby hospital while officers secured the crash site. Troopers are reviewing surveillance and seeking witnesses who might have seen the moments before impact.
