DANIELSON, CT — Human remains discovered Wednesday behind a gate on Woodward Street in Danielson are the latest in a string of grim discoveries across eastern Connecticut and nearby Rhode Island, but authorities say no links have been established.

The remains in Danielson follow two other discoveries in recent weeks: a suitcase containing human remains found near a cemetery in the City of Groton on March 19, and the body of a woman recovered March 27 in Foster, Rhode Island, just over the state line.

State police say there is “no information at this time suggesting any connection to similar discoveries in RI & the CT shoreline area,” and emphasized that “there is also no known threat to the public at this time.”

In Groton, investigators believe the remains belong to an adult female between 40 and 60 years old with light-pigmented skin.

The victim may have had Turner Syndrome, a condition associated with physical characteristics such as a broad chest, short neck, and small chin.

Authorities in Groton are also investigating a separate incident involving a suspicious man reported at Bluff Point State Park on April 3.

Police confirmed receiving a 911 call about the man, but said the narrative circulating online differed substantially from the official report.

Additionally, Groton police continue to search for Steven Gush, a man reported missing whose car and phone were found abandoned along Route 184 on March 29.

Despite speculation from the public, including social media chatter about a potential serial offender, police across jurisdictions have stated there is currently no evidence linking the cases.
