Hartford, CT — A fugitive wanted on felony theft charges in Pennsylvania was arrested at Bradley International Airport after U.S. Customs and Border Enforcement flagged his arrival, Connecticut State Police said.

Christopher Heredia Ramirez, 31, was taken into custody at approximately 5:30 p.m. Monday, March 3, after his flight landed at Bradley.

Dispatchers confirmed that he was the subject of an active extraditable warrant issued by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities intercepted Ramirez after federal officials alerted state police to his presence onboard. Troopers at Bradley acted swiftly, taking him into custody without incident.

Ramirez was transported to Troop H in Hartford, where he was processed on a fugitive-from-justice charge under Connecticut General Statute 54-170.

Ramirez remains in custody on a $100,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, at Hartford Superior Court, where he will face extradition proceedings.

Officials did not disclose details of the felony theft case tied to the Pennsylvania warrant. The Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office has not provided further comment on Ramirez’s pending legal matters.

Bradley International Airport, one of New England’s busiest travel hubs, frequently coordinates with federal agencies on fugitive apprehensions.

State police did not indicate whether Ramirez had legal representation at the time of his arrest. Extradition proceedings typically hinge on the cooperation of Pennsylvania authorities and Ramirez’s response to the warrant.

Hartford Superior Court will determine his next steps as legal proceedings unfold.
