HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford child fall incident on Thursday evening ended in a near-miracle after a 4-year-old tumbled from a third-floor window but was safely caught by a nearby adult, Hartford police confirmed.
According to police, the child fell from a window on Judson Street but was intercepted mid-air by an adult passerby and additionally cushioned by nearby bushes. The child, remarkably, sustained only minor injuries and was conscious and alert when emergency crews arrived.
Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department said initial findings point to an accidental third-floor window accident. “We’re fortunate this didn’t turn tragic,” Boisvert noted. Police continue to investigate how the child reached and fell through the window.
The Hartford child fall underscores ongoing concerns over window safety in multi-story homes, particularly where young children live. Police urge parents to install window guards and secure openings to prevent similar incidents.
No further details have been released, but authorities plan to provide updates as the investigation progresses.
