GRANBY, Conn. — A suspicious package discovered during morning opening procedures Tuesday, March 25, prompted a temporary closure of the Granby library and municipal complex, though authorities later confirmed the item was not a threat.
Granby Police said the package was found in the morning, triggering a precautionary investigation and immediate shutdown of the building.
“A suspicious package was found in the morning during opening procedures,” officials stated.
The area was secured, and both the library and adjoining municipal services were closed for a short period.
The investigation concluded without incident. “Police said it was determined that the suspicious package was not a threat.”
The complex has since reopened. Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community. “The area has since fully reopened and there is no threat to the community,” officials added.
