Groton, CT – Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday, March 5, at the M&T Bank located at 654 Long Hill Road.
The suspect, armed with a handgun, fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.
At approximately 3:12 p.m. on March 5, the Groton Police Department Emergency Communications Center received a report of the robbery.
Responding officers and detectives arrived swiftly to secure the area and begin their investigation.
Authorities have not yet released a description of the suspect or the getaway vehicle.
The department confirmed that the suspect displayed a firearm during the robbery, but no injuries have been reported.
Investigators are working to gather evidence and review security footage from the bank and surrounding businesses.
The Groton Police Department urged the public to assist in the ongoing investigation.
