Storrs, CT – The UConn Huskies women’s basketball team will begin its NCAA Tournament campaign on March 22, looking to secure its first national championship since 2016.

For guard Paige Bueckers, this year’s tournament marks her final chance to bring home a title for the Huskies.

The fifth-year star has cemented her place among UConn’s greats, adding to the legacy built under head coach Geno Auriemma over the past four decades.

Ahead of her last tournament run, Bueckers acknowledged the unwavering support from UConn’s fanbase.

“They’re the best fans and supporters in the country. They travel. They’re at every game. Sometimes we feel like at road games it feels like a home game just because of how much support we get,” Bueckers said in a March 17 interview with People’s Natasha Dye.

She emphasized how much the Huskies’ supporters have meant to her throughout her career.

“But just playing here and how much they’ve given to me, how much they’ve given to this team, this program, I just wanted it basically to be an ode to them and how amazing they are. To be able to have that opportunity to give them back some love I think is what we wanted to do,” she said.

Bueckers will lead the Huskies alongside Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong as they begin their tournament journey on March 22 at 1 p.m. ET.
