A man wanted for a shocking indecent assault incident at a South Philadelphia Dollar Tree store has turned himself in to authorities as of July 10, 2024. The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by the police, was accused of sexually assaulting a young girl inside the store by ejaculating on her leg before fleeing the scene.

The incident occurred on July 8, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM, in the Dollar Tree located at the intersection of 9th Street and Washington Avenue. According to Philadelphia Police Department reports, the suspect approached the victim, who was shopping with her family, and committed the indecent act before running out of the store. The victim’s family immediately reported the incident to store management, who then contacted the police.

Footage of the incident was seemingly filmed by the woman who was reportedly victimized. In the video, she can be seen chasing the man out of the store while shouting to witnesses that he had ejaculated on her leg while she was shopping, before quickly leaving the scene. As the suspect was running away, the woman can be heard yelling…

“He f***ing N*tting on my f***ing leg!!! You go to hell, b*tch!”

The victim screamed as she ran after the man who assulted her.

Philadelphia police quickly released surveillance footage of the suspect to the public in an effort to identify and apprehend him. The footage showed a man in his late twenties to early thirties, with a slim build and wearing a dark hoodie and jeans. The widespread media coverage and community outrage helped in circulating the suspect’s image, leading to his decision to surrender to the authorities.

On the morning of July 10, 2024, the suspect walked into the 3rd District Police Station accompanied by his attorney. He was taken into custody without incident. The Philadelphia Police Department has confirmed his arrest and stated that charges are pending.

The victim, whose identity is protected due to her age, is reported to be physically unharmed but understandably traumatized by the event. Philadelphia Police are working closely with her family to provide the necessary support and resources.

This incident has sparked a wave of concern and discussions about safety in public spaces, especially for young children. Local community leaders and advocacy groups are urging parents to remain vigilant and for stores to increase their security measures.

In a related development, rapper Meek Mill tweeted about the incident, calling for a community manhunt to locate the suspect before he turned himself in. Meek Mill’s tweet read:

“Let’s play manhunt with him today in Philly some community service …. I got 2 bands for his lo??? But you gotta connect.”

The tweet received significant attention, further highlighting the public’s concern and outrage over the incident.

The investigation into the suspect’s background and motives is ongoing. Police are also examining if he might be connected to any similar incidents in the area.
