TOLLAND, CT — Justin Perez, 27, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, following a traffic stop conducted by Enfield Police.

He was arrested on an active warrant issued by Troop C in connection to allegations involving a minor student at Somers High School, where he previously served as an assistant athletic coach.

The warrant stems from an investigation launched in October 2024. The case began after a juvenile female student reported inappropriate contact by Perez.

Investigators concluded Perez allegedly initiated and maintained inappropriate communication with the student via phone and social media platforms. Authorities also allege that Perez made physical advances during school practice sessions and engaged in other unwanted sexual conduct.

Perez was transported to Troop C for booking and charged with multiple offenses, including criminal attempt at risk of injury to a minor, risk of injury to a minor, criminal attempt at second-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, and enticing a minor under 18 by computer.

He was released on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on April 2, 2025.

No further details about the case or the victim’s identity were released. The investigation remains active.
