UConn Names March Husky High Five Student-Athletes

STORRS, CT — The Student Athlete Success Program (SASP) at the University of Connecticut has announced the recipients of the March 2025 Husky High Five awards.

This monthly recognition honors student-athletes who exemplify academic perseverance, leadership, and personal growth alongside their athletic responsibilities.

For the month of March, the award was presented to four student-athletes across multiple programs:

• Ian Cooke – Baseball

• Chase Fountain – Football

• Claire Murdoch – Women’s Ice Hockey

• Danielle Phillip – Women’s Track and Field

The Husky High Five is awarded to UConn athletes who demonstrate exceptional academic performance, personal development, and commitment to leadership and service.

According to SASP, the selection process highlights those who achieve success through hard work and who overcome academic and personal challenges with measurable growth and impact.

Awardees are nominated based on their commitment to academic excellence, improvement in course performance, and leadership shown within and beyond their teams.

The SASP continues to support more than 700 UConn student-athletes annually, reinforcing the university’s emphasis on holistic development.

The Husky High Five award stands as a reflection of UConn’s dedication to student-athlete achievement across disciplines.
