Manchester police have arrested two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, following an alarming incident at Urban Air Adventure Park. The teens are accused of assaulting another juvenile and threatening them with a fake gun, which was later identified as an airsoft gun, a replica firearm capable of firing non-lethal plastic pellets.

The incident unfolded at the popular adventure park, prompting swift action from Manchester law enforcement. Officers responded to reports of a confrontation involving a weapon. Upon arrival, they identified the weapon as an airsoft gun and apprehended the suspects without further incident. Both juveniles now face charges related to assault and threatening behavior.

Community Concerns Over Safety

This incident has sparked concern among local residents about safety measures at recreational venues frequented by families and children. Urban Air Adventure Park has yet to release an official statement but is expected to reassess its security protocols to prevent similar occurrences.

Patrons expressed shock and concern following the event. One parent who was at the park during the incident commented, “It’s terrifying to think something like this could happen in a place meant for kids to have fun. We need better security checks.”

Similar Incident Raises Alarm

This incident comes just weeks after another alarming event in Manchester. A 17-year-old was arrested at Verplanck Elementary School after brandishing an airsoft rifle at students and staff, resulting in a lockdown. The string of incidents has heightened scrutiny over the availability and misuse of replica firearms, particularly among minors.

Police Urge Awareness and Caution

Manchester Police emphasized the dangers of replica firearms, noting that airsoft guns can be mistaken for real weapons, escalating situations to potentially tragic outcomes. “We’re urging parents to talk to their children about the serious consequences of carrying and displaying these items in public spaces,” said a spokesperson for the department.

Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the assault at Urban Air. Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward.

Moving Forward

As the community grapples with these events, calls for improved security measures and education on the responsible use of airsoft and other replica firearms are growing louder. Urban Air Adventure Park is expected to address the matter directly in the coming days. Meanwhile, residents are left questioning how such incidents can be prevented in spaces designed for recreation and safety.
