Windham, CT — The Windham Region Transit District (WRTD) has rolled out major changes to its regional routes, shutting down several key stops and adjusting schedules, according to an email from Philip Johnson, who works with the University of Connecticut and WRTD. The changes took effect March 9.

Several stops, including Big Y, Four Corners, Jensen’s, South Frontage Road at Commuter Lot, and Valley at High/Noble Hall, have been eliminated, Johnson said.

The 674 A route now operates on Sundays and has extended Saturday hours but no longer stops at Four Corners/Holiday Mall and Big Y.

Instead, it will stop curbside at East Brook Mall. The 674 A and C lines now offer additional trips between Windham and Mansfield, though the 674 C will only stop at the Nash Zimmer Transportation Center on outbound trips.

The 675 route now follows Route 195 and has dropped Discovery Drive. Riders heading to Four Corners/Holiday Mall must transfer from the 674 to 675 at Rosebrooks House.

Johnson said the 675 will now run year-round, while the new 676 will operate on a reduced schedule during summer, Christmas, and Thanksgiving breaks.

The 991 route will continue servicing Norwich Business Park but will limit its trips through Willimantic.

Complete schedules and updates are available on the WRTD website.
