MANCHESTER, CT — A Glastonbury man was arrested Sunday afternoon after Connecticut State Police said he was clocked at 119 miles per hour on Interstate 384 East in Manchester.

On April 27, 2025, at approximately 3:29 PM, Troopers from Troop H – Hartford were conducting traffic enforcement with a speed laser near Exit 3 when they observed a Volkswagen Golf traveling significantly faster than the flow of traffic.

Troopers reported the vehicle made a sudden lane change, cutting off another car in the left center lane, before radar confirmed its speed at 119 mph in a 65 mph zone.

The vehicle was stopped soon after, and the driver was identified as Antonio Carcia, 33, of Glastonbury.

According to police, Carcia told troopers he was having issues with his vehicle, which he claimed explained the excessive speed.

Carcia was arrested and transported to Troop H, where he was charged with:

  • Reckless Driving (C.G.S. 14-222)
  • Failure to Maintain Lane (C.G.S. 14-236)

He was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on May 23, 2025.

No injuries or crashes were reported in connection with the incident.

Connecticut State Police continue to urge drivers to follow posted speed limits and avoid reckless maneuvers that endanger others on the road.
