The state police said that routine check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant from Troop D-Danielson. Officers took Leblanc into custody at the scene and transferred him to Troop D.

The warrant was issued following a February 2024 crash on Route 12 in Killingly. Investigators determined that Leblanc rear-ended another vehicle operated by a pregnant woman.

The impact led to an emergency C-section. The newborn died two days later, on Feb. 28, 2024.

Authorities charged Leblanc with multiple offenses, including first-degree assault under extreme indifference to human life, reckless endangerment, and several motor vehicle violations.

The charges included illegal operation of a vehicle without minimum insurance, traveling unreasonably fast, improper passing, and failure to maintain a reasonable distance.

Leblanc was processed and later released on a $375,000 bond. Court records indicate he is scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court on March 11, 2025.

Authorities did not immediately release additional details regarding the Lisbon accident that led to his apprehension.
