Stamford, CT – A 57-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash on West Main Street Sunday, Feb. 16, Stamford Police Department said.

According to investigators, a 2008 Lexus SUV was traveling westbound when it hit the pedestrian around 7 a.m.

The driver fled the scene, leaving the victim critically injured.

Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to Stamford Hospital, where they were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for treatment.

Authorities later located the suspected vehicle and identified a possible driver.

A search warrant was executed, and the alleged operator—a 43-year-old Stamford resident—was questioned.

Police said the individual invoked their right to legal counsel and declined to provide a statement.

The Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is leading the investigation.

Officials urge anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to contact investigators at (203) 977-4712.

Stamford police continue to crack down on traffic violations and are working to hold drivers accountable.
