Terry Crews, the well-known actor and America’s Got Talent host, revealed in an emotional interview published on Thursday, September 7, 2023, that he and his wife, Rebecca King-Crews, have suffered the heartbreaking loss of three miscarriages. The candid confession came as Crews reflected on a poignant performance during Wednesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent, where a drone display, set to Lily Meola’s song “Butterfly,” depicted the emotional journey of losing a child.

Crews, 56, has always been open about the joys and struggles of his personal life, but this revelation sheds new light on the couple’s private battles. He described the drone performance as deeply moving and “meaningful,” particularly because it resonated with his and Rebecca’s own grief, acknowledging how the loss had impacted them both.

“Me and my wife, we know what it’s like to lose a child. We’ve had three miscarriages,”

Terry Crews told People in the interview

The performance, choreographed with delicate precision, struck a chord with the audience and with Crews, who said the tribute was a beautiful way to process the difficult emotions surrounding the loss of a child. He also remarked that the drone show was a reminder of the powerful ability to heal through art and shared experiences, admitting that it was something the show’s audience “needed.”

“It’s one of those things where it was so meaningful and special because the dedication is just, it’s a way to process these things,”

Terry and Rebecca’s journey through loss has brought them closer as a couple, and Crews emphasized the importance of open communication and emotional support. He described how, in the face of such immense grief, he and Rebecca found solace in music and heartfelt conversations.

“I sit in a room and listen to music, and it helps me process all the things I’m feeling,” … “Then the other thing is I just talk to my wife. We talk it out. We have really, really nice long, deep conversations.”

Crews said.

According to Crews, those conversations are essential to their healing process, providing an outlet to express feelings and connect on a deeper level, revealing how these moments of undistracted intimacy have helped the couple cope with their profound loss, emphasizing how important it is to actively engage in the process of healing rather than suppressing emotions.

“Turn the TV off, turn the phone off, and let’s just talk it through,” he explained, . “An hour later, you’re like, ‘Wow, I can handle anything,’”

Crew said

Terry and Rebecca’s marriage dates back to 1989, and their family has grown significantly over the years. Before they married, Rebecca was a single mother to her daughter, Naomi, who is now 36. Crews adopted Naomi after the couple tied the knot. Together, they welcomed three daughters: Azriél, 33, Tera, 26, and Wynfrey, 21, as well as a son, Isaiah, who is 19. Despite their growing family and the joys of fatherhood, Crews reflected on how the miscarriages have affected their lives.

In a 2022 interview with Parade, Crews opened up about the significance of family, emphasizing that his legacy is not defined by his professional achievements but by the children he and Rebecca have raised.

“We kind of wrap everything up in achievements, but the movies and all the things I’ve done? They’re not my legacy,” … “It’s really my son, and my daughters, and my family. That’s the legacy.”

Crews shared in the interview.

The couple’s ability to remain resilient in the face of loss has inspired many, and Crews’ openness about their struggles serves as a reminder that even public figures face deeply personal challenges. While miscarriages are often kept private due to the pain and stigma surrounding them, Crews’ decision to speak about their experience could offer comfort and solidarity to others dealing with similar grief.

Terry Crews’ revelation about his family’s heartbreak comes at a time when there is growing awareness about the emotional toll of miscarriages, with more public figures coming forward to share their stories. For Terry and Rebecca, their shared strength and ability to talk through their pain has been key to their healing, providing a sense of peace and unity in a time of loss. Crews’ powerful message of support and openness reflects the love and commitment he shares with his wife, underscoring the importance of family and communication in overcoming life’s most difficult moments.
