TORRINGTON, CT — The Torrington Police Department is grieving the loss of Sergeant Nicholas Lettieri, who passed away Saturday evening at Hartford Hospital following a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer. He was 34 years old.
Sgt. Lettieri served with the department for 11 years and was widely respected among colleagues and community members.
According to Chief Baldwin, he died peacefully surrounded by his family, friends, and members of the Torrington Police Department and law enforcement community.
“It is with extreme sadness and deep regret that I announce the passing of Torrington Police Sergeant Nicholas Lettieri,” Chief Baldwin shared in a public statement. “He was surrounded by his family, loved ones, friends and members of his TPD and law enforcement family.”
Sgt. Lettieri is survived by his wife, Meghan, and their 2-year-old son, Finn.
No arrangements have been announced at this time. The department has asked the public to keep the Lettieri family and Torrington officers in their thoughts during this period of mourning.
“Our condolences go out to the entire Lettieri family during this extremely difficult time,” said Chief Baldwin.
