In a surprising announcement made on June 20, 2024, Tyler, the Creator revealed via social media that he will not be able to perform at the upcoming Lollapalooza and Outside Lands music festivals. This announcement comes just six weeks before the events are set to take place. The cancellations have left many fans disappointed, as Tyler was one of the most anticipated headliners for both festivals this summer.

“I hate saying this, but I have to cancel Lollapalooza and Outside Lands,” Tyler wrote in a heartfelt message on his social media accounts. “I made a commitment that I can no longer keep, and that bums me out knowing how excited folks were.”

Tyler, the Creator was originally slated to perform at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 1, 2024, and at Outside Lands in San Francisco from August 9-11, 2024. However, due to unforeseen commitments, he had to pull out of both events. This decision has led to swift replacements by the festival organizers.

At Lollapalooza, Megan Thee Stallion will take over Tyler’s headlining spot on August 1. She expressed her excitement about the opportunity, posting on Instagram, “Hot girl summer in Chicago.” At Outside Lands, pop singer Sabrina Carpenter is set to replace Tyler on August 10, 2024, bringing her unique blend of pop and R&B to the festival.
