South Windsor, CT – A 33-year-old Uber driver from West Hartford has been charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly masturbating in a customer’s bathroom and exposing himself, South Windsor Police Department said.

The incident happened around 2:20 a.m. Friday, March 14, when the driver dropped off a passenger at his residence and asked to use the bathroom.

The customer allowed him inside, but moments later, the driver opened the door while masturbating, according to police.

Authorities said officers contacted the suspect, and he later turned himself in at the South Windsor Police Department. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released on a $1,500 bond.

Uber swiftly removed him from its platform following the allegations.

“The behavior described in this report is deeply disturbing. We removed the driver’s access to the Uber platform as soon as we were made aware, and stand ready to assist law enforcement in their investigation,” an Uber spokesperson said in a statement.

It was not immediately clear if the driver had retained legal representation.
