KILLINGLY, Conn. — Two teens were arrested Saturday afternoon after a stolen vehicle crashed off I-395 and the occupants fled into nearby woods, according to Connecticut State Police.
At approximately 3:28 p.m. on March 22, 2025, Troopers from Troop D – Danielson responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash on the northbound Exit 37 off-ramp of Interstate 395. A 911 caller told dispatchers that three individuals exited the wrecked vehicle and ran into the woods.
Responding officers found the vehicle approximately 20 yards off the roadway, down an embankment. The car had struck a metal beam guardrail, hit a directional sign, and then veered off-road, landing in the brush.
Further investigation confirmed the vehicle was reported stolen out of Worcester, Massachusetts. Troopers launched a search with assistance from Killingly Police and K-9 units Falco and Murphy.
Two individuals matching the descriptions provided by witnesses were located. K9 Falco apprehended one male, and K9 Murphy apprehended the second. The third person, later identified on scene as a juvenile, evaded capture but is known to authorities.
The suspects taken into custody were identified as:
• Cedric Tolson (DOB 04/20/2006) of Worcester, MA
• Jenay Busanet (DOB 07/25/2006) of Killingly, CT
Both teens declined medical attention despite sustaining K-9 bite injuries during apprehension.
At Troop D, they were each charged with:
• Interfering with an Officer (C.G.S. 53a-167a)
• Larceny of a Motor Vehicle (C.G.S. 53a-119c)
• Evading the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident (C.G.S. 14-224(b)(3))
Tolson was released after posting a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on April 8, 2025.
Busanet was held on bond and is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on March 24, 2025.
Police confirmed the third suspect is a juvenile and charges are pending. The case remains an active investigation.
