NEW HAVEN, CT — The Connecticut State Police Training Academy will graduate 21 recruits from the 136th Training Troop on Thursday, April 3, 2025. The ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Lyman Center, located on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University.
The 21 new Troopers have completed more than six months of rigorous training. They will now be assigned to State Police Troops across Connecticut, where they will begin their field training under the supervision of experienced officers.
Commissioner Ronnell Higgins of the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection and Colonel Daniel Loughman, Commander of the Connecticut State Police, will lead the graduation event.
Members of the State Police Command Staff will attend to welcome the graduating class. A member of the troop will serve as the Class Speaker.
Governor Ned Lamont and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz are expected to deliver remarks during the ceremony, underscoring the importance of the new class amid ongoing public safety priorities statewide.
Following the graduation, several Trooper Trainees, including a Spanish-speaking officer, will be available to speak with members of the media. Arrangements can be made by contacting the State Police Public Information Office.
The ceremony marks the culmination of formal academy training and the transition of the 136th Training Troop into active service on Connecticut’s highways and in its communities.
