The Killingly Community Center on Broad Street was evacuated evening of Monday, Feb 10, after state police responded to a bomb threat report.

According to the Connecticut State Police, the threat was called in around 5:30 PM. This prompted an immediate evacuation of the building.

Police, specifically Troop D based in Danielson, and other emergency responders searched the property but found no evidence of explosives.

The incident temporarily disrupted activities at the community center, a well-known gathering spot for local events.

Although the building has since reopened, police confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.

No suspects or further details about the source of the threat have been released. State police are reiterating anyone with information to come forward.

The bomb threat marks the second high-profile public safety response in northeastern Connecticut in recent months, which heightened concerns around community security.

The authories said that the Killingly community has expressed both relief that no devices were found and frustration over the growing number of false threats affecting public spaces.
