Hartford train derailment leaves cars off-track

Hartford train derailment, Connecticut train accident, Weston Street derailment

A train derailment on Weston Street in Hartford late Monday night left three cars off-track. No injuries were reported as officials investigate the cause.

Hartford, CT – Authorities are investigating a train derailment that occurred late night of Monday, Feb. 17 on 89 Weston Street.

Fire crews responded around 11:20 p.m. and found three cylinder train cars had derailed. Officials said the cars remained upright and undamaged.

Southern Railroad has been contacted to bring equipment for track repairs and removal of the cars, according to fire officials.

Amtrak representatives and police also responded.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
