Hartford, CT – The City of Hartford Fire Department Firefighters responded to a fast-moving blaze evening of Wednesday, Feb. 12 at a three-story, 12-unit apartment building in the Parkville neighborhood.
The fire incident forced several families from their homes, officials said in a press release.
According to the fire department, emergency crews arrived at 104 Rowe Avenue, where flames rapidly spread from the second floor’s alpha side to the third floor.
“Upon arrival, they encountered fire on the second floor alpha side extending to the third floor,” the department said in a statement.
They added, “Multiple companies operated on the second and third floors, and fire was quickly knocked down, extinguished, and placed under control.”
Authorities confirmed no injuries among civilians or firefighters.
The apartment building was occupied at the time of the fire, leaving multiple residents displaced.
The department’s Special Services Unit is working with the American Red Cross to provide emergency shelter and assistance to affected families.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
