Somers, CT — A Connecticut state police K9 helped apprehend a fugitive with five active felony warrants in Somers on Monday, authorities confirmed.
According to state police, Clinton police contacted Troop C around 3:00 p.m. requesting assistance in locating a suspect tied to an ongoing investigation. The suspect was identified as 41-year-old Alfred Ricciuti, who had multiple active warrants out of New Jersey for burglary, theft, and resisting arrest.
Ricciuti was believed to be working at a business in Somers. By 4:53 p.m., troopers had him under surveillance in front of the business location.
When officers approached and ordered Ricciuti to get on the ground, he refused to comply. State Police then deployed K9 Viper, who apprehended Ricciuti without further incident.
He was taken into custody and charged with being a fugitive from justice and interfering with an officer/resisting.
Ricciuti is being held on a total bond of $550,000. He was scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
