Middletown, CT – The City of Middletown has declared an emergency parking ban starting at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 in preparation for an anticipated snowstorm in Connecticut.
All vehicles must be removed from Middletown streets to avoid hefty fines and potential towing.
“The City of Middletown parking ban requires that you remove your vehicle(s) from all City streets,” the Department of Public Works said in a statement.
Parking ban violations and penalties
Any vehicle left on the streets past the 3:00 p.m. deadline will be subject to a $225 fine per violation and may be towed by the Middletown Parking Department or the Middletown Police Department at the owner’s expense.
To assist residents, the city is offering free parking in designated municipal lots, including:
- Melli Plaza Lot – 250 spaces
- Broad Street/Kidcity Lot – 100 spaces
- Broad Street/Russell Library Lot – 30 spaces
Residents are encouraged to use these lots to avoid Middletown snow emergency fines in order to sustain clear streets for snow removal operations in Middletown.
How to pay Middletown parking tickets
If your vehicle is ticketed during the Middletown winter parking ban, payments can be made to the Middletown Parking Department at City Hall (Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM), by phone at (860)-638-4920, or online at www.MiddletownCT.gov.
For vehicles that are towed, full payments for the total parking violation fine ($225) and towing fees must be made to the Middletown Police Department before vehicle release.
“The City asks for everyone’s cooperation and understanding as we provide for the safety, well-being and snow removal operations for all of Middletown and its citizens.” the official document read.
