BETHANY, Conn. — A Waterbury man turned himself in Wednesday morning in connection with a police pursuit that took place on Route 8 in May 2024, according to state police.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. on March 19, 2025, Milton Westley, born November 7, 1979, surrendered at Troop I – Bethany.

Troopers confirmed he was wanted on an active arrest warrant stemming from the 2024 incident.

Authorities said Westley had been behind the wheel during the pursuit and was identified through investigative efforts.

Troopers determined that Westley was operating a vehicle with a suspended license when he fled from police during the traffic stop.

Westley was arrested without incident and charged under Connecticut General Statutes with operating a motor vehicle under suspension (14-215), reckless driving (14-222), and engaging police in pursuit (14-223(b)).

Following booking procedures, Westley was issued a $20,000 bond. Police said he was unable to post bail and was held in custody.

Westley appeared in Waterbury Superior Court later that day, March 19, 2025.

The original incident on Route 8 occurred in May 2024. Police did not disclose further details about the pursuit or whether any injuries or property damage occurred during the event. The investigation led to the issuance of the warrant that prompted Westley’s surrender nearly ten months later.
