WALLINGFORD, CT — A tragic early morning Wallingford house fire on Clifton Street left one person dead Friday, prompting an investigation by local and state fire officials. Fire crews were dispatched around 4:30 a.m. and arrived to find heavy flames consuming a three-story residence.
The Wallingford Fire Department reported the fire had also spread to a neighboring home before being brought under control approximately 90 minutes later. Amid the extensive damage, responders discovered one fatality inside the original structure. The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending family notification.
