STORRS, CT — The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry is supporting tonight’s UConn Spring Puppet Slam, a live performance event featuring student puppeteers and guest artists.
The show will be on Friday, April 11, held at the Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. and performances starting at 8:00 p.m.
This year’s Puppet Slam showcases student work from UConn’s Puppet Arts Program, including performances by Rosie Grunzke, Sadie Aiken, Allison Free, Sol Ramirez, Harley Walker, Vincenzo Faruolo, Beep Siegel, and others.
“In addition to guest artists, this year’s UConn Spring Puppet Slam is thrilled to present the talents of our UConn Puppet Arts students,” event organizers said.
The Spring Puppet Slam is also funded by The Puppet Slam Network, which helps bring short-form puppet theater to communities across the country.
Admission is free, and the event is open to all. Seating is limited, and early arrival is recommended.
The Harriet S. Jorgensen Theatre is located in the lower level of the Jorgensen Performing Arts Center on the UConn Storrs campus.
