HARTFORD, CT — Attorney General William Tong, alongside 51 bipartisan attorneys general from the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, has issued warnings to nine voice service providers suspected of routing unlawful robocalls across their networks.
“These robocall middlemen have facilitated a flood of scam calls to American phones, abused by fraudsters impersonating governments and businesses to steal money and personal information,” Tong stated.
He further added, “These nine companies are on notice—stop facilitating illegal robocall traffic now, or we’re coming after you with the full weight of 51 attorneys general.”
The warning letters allege that these companies may be violating both state and federal laws.
Each letter includes analysis of suspicious or illegal robocall activity traced through traceback notices.
Several providers received hundreds of notices connected to robocall scams ranging from Social Security and student loan fraud to fake Amazon charges and Medicare schemes.
The nine providers named are:
- Global Net Holdings (153 notices)
- All Access Telecom (356 notices)
- Lingo Telecom (105+ notices)
- NGL Communications (100+ notices)
- Range (590+ notices)
- RSCom Ltd. (Nearly 1,000 notices)
- Telcast Network (800+ notices)
- ThinQ Technologies (Commio) (500+ notices)
- Telcentris (Voxox) (400+ notices)
The task force said these companies transmitted scam calls involving tax relief fraud, credit card schemes, auto warranty scams, and fake government messages.
The FCC and other federal law enforcement agencies have been alerted.
“Robocalls are more than just a nuisance, they facilitate fraud with the potential to inflict serious financial harm,” Tong said. “If you receive a suspicious call, hang up, do not engage, and report it.”
Connecticut residents can assist investigations by submitting robocall reports to www.ct.gov/agcomplaints. The site is configured to collect robocall-specific data to support legal action.
