Body Found in Connecticut River Sparks Investigation in Rocky Hill

ROCKY HILL, CT — A somber discovery in Rocky Hill this weekend has prompted a full-scale investigation after a body was found floating in the Connecticut River near Ferry Park.

On Sunday morning, a boater alerted authorities after spotting a body in the water close to Ferry Park in Rocky Hill. Emergency response teams from Rocky Hill, Portland, and Middletown swiftly arrived to recover the body.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, pending notification of family members and confirmation from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The cause of death remains unknown at this time, and an autopsy has been scheduled.

Police have cordoned off Ferry Park to the public as the investigation continues. Officials urge anyone with information related to the case to contact Rocky Hill Police Detective Seguin and reference case number 25-8525.

The discovery has unsettled residents, as Ferry Park is a popular spot for boating and family outings. Updates will be provided as more details emerge.

Authorities are asking for the public’s cooperation and vigilance as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to step forward.
