CHESHIRE, CT — Cheshire High School has claimed the No. 1 spot in Connecticut’s high school softball rankings, solidifying their dominance after a string of impressive victories.
In the newest GametimeCT Top 10 Softball Poll released Monday, Cheshire earned 12 of 16 first-place votes, moving up from second place following Masuk’s unexpected loss to Brookfield last week.
The Rams’ undefeated streak and commanding wins have positioned them as clear favorites as the season progresses. “Our players have worked tirelessly, and this ranking reflects their commitment to excellence,” said Cheshire head coach Kristine Drust.
Woodland High School climbed to No. 2 in the rankings, maintaining an undefeated record as well. Darien and Brookfield made significant gains, each entering the Top 10 after strong performances.
Masuk, last week’s top-ranked team, fell to No. 3 following their setback against Brookfield.
With playoff season approaching, Cheshire High School looks poised to continue their winning ways, but fierce competition remains across the state’s top softball programs. Fans and players alike anticipate a thrilling conclusion to the regular season.
