Madison, CT – A Milford man was arrested early Saturday, Feb. 22, after police say he tore down Interstate 95 at 120 mph, weaving between cars before pulling over near Exit 59.

At around 12:45 a.m., a Connecticut state trooper stationed in the median near Exit 63 in Clinton spotted a silver sedan hurtling southbound at an excessive speed.

The trooper pulled out and pursued the vehicle, identified as an Audi A4 with Connecticut plates, as it cut through traffic, changing lanes in an unsafe manner.

Once behind the sedan, the trooper clocked its speed at 120 mph. Emergency lights flashed, a siren blared, and the driver complied, pulling onto the right shoulder near Exit 59 in Madison.

Police identified the driver as Dustin Hueffman, 22, of Milford. When asked why he was speeding, Hueffman reportedly told the trooper he saw an open stretch of highway and wanted to “open up the car.”

Hueffman was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop F headquarters, where he was charged with reckless driving and passing on the right.

He was later released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear at New Haven Superior Court on Friday, March 7.
