Netflix is set to release its highly anticipated sports docuseries, “Sprint,” on July 2, 2024. This series will offer viewers an intimate look at the lives of elite sprinters, Including world champions Noah Lyles, Sha’Carri Richardson, Shericka Jackson, Fred Kerley, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Dina Asher-Smith, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Zharnel Hughes. Additional runners from the US, Jamaica, the UK, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Italy, and more will also be showcased.  The announcement comes 50 days before the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, aiming to build excitement and provide fans with a deeper understanding of the athletes’ journeys.

“It takes a special talent, both physically and mentally, to succeed in a world where your fate is decided in just 10 seconds.”

World Athletics president Sebastian Coe told Netflix last year.
The Official Netflix Sports Docuseries “Sprint” trailer comes 50 days before the 2024 Paris Olympics Games.

Produced by Box To Box Films, the company behind successful sports documentaries like “Drive to Survive,” “Full Swing,” and “Break Point,” “Sprint” is expected to capture the same audience engagement. The series follows these top sprinters through the 2023 season, highlighting key events such as the Diamond League and the World Championships in Budapest, where Noah Lyles made history by winning double gold in the 100m and 200m events.

Sha’Carri Richardson, known for her vibrant personality and exceptional talent, along with Dina Asher-Smith, Fred Kerley, Shericka Jackson, Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and Zharnel Hughes, will share their training regimens, personal struggles, and triumphs. This behind-the-scenes perspective promises to offer fans and newcomers a compelling look at the dedication and intensity required to compete at the highest levels of track and field.

Notably absent from the series is Canada’s Andre De Grasse, despite his impressive record of six sprint medals over the last two Olympic Games. The focus remains on the athletes featured, showcasing their unique paths to success and their contributions to the sport.

The series’ premiere is timely, coinciding with the lead-up to the Paris Olympics, potentially drawing more viewers and fostering a greater appreciation for track and field. As with their previous series, Box To Box Films aims to resonate with both existing fans and new audiences, increasing the sport’s visibility and popularity.

For those eager to watch, “Sprint” is available for pre-reminder on Netflix. Viewers can set a reminder on the app and add the series to their watch list, ensuring they don’t miss the premiere.
