PRESTON, CT — A Norwich man turned himself in on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, in connection with a two-vehicle crash that caused serious injuries on Route 2 in Preston last summer.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., Ryan Keefe, born July 12, 1986, surrendered to authorities at Troop E – Montville. He was taken into custody based on an active arrest warrant stemming from a collision that occurred on June 18, 2024.
The warrant, issued after a months-long investigation, includes charges under Connecticut General Statutes 14-222 for Reckless Driving and 14-227k(A)(1) for Avoidance of Ignition Interlock Device (IID).
The interlock device statute pertains to individuals ordered to use the breathalyzer-linked ignition system but who attempt to circumvent its use.
Following processing, Keefe was released on a court-set bond of $35,000. His arraignment is scheduled for April 22, 2025, at Norwich Superior Court.
The crash in question involved two vehicles and resulted in serious injury, though the identities and medical status of other individuals involved have not been released. Authorities have not shared additional details pending court proceedings.
The investigation was conducted by Connecticut State Police Troop E, with assistance from crash reconstruction specialists. The arrest marks a key development in a case that has remained under review since the summer of 2024.
