The Huskies are gunning for their 30th conference tournament title and 23rd as a member of the BIG EAST. At Mohegan Sun Arena, their dominance is nearly untouchable.

The team holds a staggering 42-1 all-time record in the building and has never lost a BIG EAST Tournament game there.

The Huskies enter the postseason stacked with conference accolades.

Redshirt senior Paige Bueckers was unanimously named BIG EAST Player of the Year, marking her third time earning the honor. Freshman Sarah Strong claimed unanimous Freshman of the Year recognition after collecting 10 Freshman of the Week awards.

Ashlynn Shade was named Sixth Woman of the Year, and head coach Geno Auriemma secured his 19th BIG EAST Coach of the Year award. Bueckers, Strong, and graduate student Azzi Fudd were all unanimous selections for the All-BIG EAST First Team.

St. John’s arrives after a first-round win over Butler, 66-50. Lashae Dwyer leads the Red Storm in scoring, averaging 13.5 points per game.

Head coach Joe Tartamella is in his 13th season, guiding the team through a challenging year.

The Huskies won both regular-season meetings against St. John’s, and Fudd led the charge in both games, averaging 23.5 points per contest.

History is on UConn’s side, with the Huskies holding a commanding 51-21 all-time record over the Red Storm.
