Tree, Wires Crash Onto Mail Truck in Newington

A tree and power lines fell onto a U.S. Postal Service truck in Newington. No injuries were reported as utility crews responded to the scene.

Newington, CT — A tree and power lines fell onto a U.S. Postal Service truck in Newington on Friday, police said.

The incident happened around 11:19 a.m. near Hillside and Homecrest streets. No one was inside the truck when the tree came down, and no injuries were reported.

Utility crews from Eversource responded to the scene to address the fallen wires.

Wind advisories remain in effect across the state, with thousands of power outages reported.
