STORRS, CT — A high-stakes weekend awaits in Storrs as the UConn softball team prepares to host St. John’s in a three-game series that will determine the 2025 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship.
Both programs enter the final weekend of the season deadlocked at 17-4 in conference play. All three matchups will be streamed live on FloSports, and tickets are available at UConnTickets.com.
UConn heads into the series with momentum, having won nine of their last ten games. The Huskies reached 30 wins for the fourth consecutive year and currently hold a 31-15 overall record.
Statistically, UConn leads the BIG EAST in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.329), home runs (66), doubles (81), runs scored (339), slugging percentage (.556), and on-base percentage (.414).
Nationally, the Huskies rank in the top 20 for doubles per game (1.76), home runs per game (1.43), RBIs per game (6.91), and scoring (7.37).
Key contributors include junior catcher Grace Jenkins and sophomore Kaitlyn Breslin. Jenkins leads the league in doubles (19), home runs (18), RBIs (63), and slugging percentage (.896), and has reached base safely in 24 straight games. Breslin is hitting .408 with 53 hits and 51 RBIs and has reached base in 13 consecutive games.
St. John’s enters the weekend at 37-14-1 and is coming off a series sweep at Villanova. The Red Storm are led by second-year head coach Michelle Depolo and feature returning All-BIG EAST talents London Jarrard, Jess Bianco, and Ana Serafinko. St. John’s claimed last year’s regular season series over UConn in Queens.
The Huskies, however, hold a commanding 57-17 lead in the all-time series. The championship series begins Saturday in Storrs, where the league title and top seed for the conference tournament will be on the line.
