Newtown, CT – A Shelton man arrested on Tuesday is accused of exposing himself and threatening a gas station employee while in possession of firearms, according to Newtown police.
Authorities responded to a call from a gas station attendant who reported that the suspect had engaged in lewd behavior before making threats. Upon arriving at the scene, officers confronted the man, who was allegedly carrying handguns at the time of the incident.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Police have not yet released his name but confirmed that he faces multiple charges, including indecent exposure, threatening, and illegal possession of firearms.
“This was a disturbing incident, and we commend the quick actions of our officers in ensuring the safety of the community,” a Newtown Police Department spokesperson said in a statement.
Local residents expressed concern over the event, noting that such incidents are uncommon in the area. Police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with further information to come forward.
