Three Dogs Killed in New Britain Apartment Fire

A fire in a New Britain apartment early Friday killed three dogs but left residents unharmed. Firefighters contained the blaze within 20 minutes.

New Britain, CT — A fire broke out early Friday morning in a three-family home on Broad Street, killing three dogs, officials said.

Firefighters arrived at around 12:30 a.m. and found flames spreading through the third-floor kitchen. The fire extended into another apartment before crews brought it under control within 20 minutes.

No residents were injured, but officials confirmed the loss of the dogs.

The initial emergency call reported an electrical issue, but moments later, a second call confirmed it was a fire.

Investigators from the fire marshal’s office are working to determine the cause.

Officials have not yet released further details.
