East Haven, CT – A third suspect has been arrested in connection with a burglary at the Carmax dealership on West Frontage Road last year, police said Wednesday, Feb. 19.
Around 4 a.m. on March 12, 2024, officers responded to a burglary at the dealership. Investigators determined that several individuals arrived in a stolen gray Volkswagen Tiguan and used it to ram the gate.
They then stole a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado before fleeing.
About 90 minutes later, the stolen Silverado was seen pulling into a driveway on Pleasant Street in New Britain.
Three people exited the vehicle before officers moved in.
Two suspects were detained after a foot chase. One had a handgun that had been reported stolen in Tampa, Florida, in 2021.
The third suspect, who was not caught at the time, has now been arrested. He faces multiple charges, including burglary, larceny of a motor vehicle, criminal mischief, and interfering with an officer.
He was held on a $250,000 bond and appeared in court on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
The investigation is ongoing.
