THOMPSON, CT — Detectives with the Connecticut State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in a Thompson bank robbery that took place shortly after noon on Thursday. The armed robbery suspect entered bankHometown on Riverside Drive around 12:38 p.m. and fled with over $3,000 in cash, according to investigators.
Authorities say the man was approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build and brown eyes. He was wearing a black Columbia zip-up sweatshirt with a lime green zipper, black face covering, black fingerless gloves, black pants, and black shoes. The suspect reportedly threatened a bank teller with a black handgun before making off with $3,250.
Security footage captured the man fleeing the scene in what appeared to be a black Ford Edge SUV with Massachusetts license plates. The vehicle was last seen heading north on Route 12 toward Massachusetts, police said.
The Eastern District Major Crimes Squad is spearheading the investigation into the Thompson bank robbery.
